How to Change Your Gateway to

Prepare for a Gateway Change by Processing All Pending Orders

Once you switch to, you won't be able to capture any transactions that were authorized using your old gateway account. For this reason, we recommend doing a little house cleaning before you switch gateways. 

First, make sure to process any pending orders that used your old gateway. This includes capturing or voiding any applicable payments and issuing any necessary credits or refunds.

In order to complete these tasks, we recommend one of the processes listed below.

Option 1

Put your store in maintenance mode to prevent customers from placing orders on your store.

  1. Go to Settings > Maintenance in your Admin Area.
  2. Click Close My Store.

Visitors will see a default message stating that your site is temporarily down for maintenance and will be back online shortly.  To tailor this message, go to Settings > Maintenance and click Customize Your Maintenance Message Here.

Option 2

Remove credit cards as an option at checkout.  (Note that when you remove credit cards, you can still use PayPal and other forms of payment.)

  1. Go to Settings > Payment in your Admin Area.
  2. On the Card Settings tab, deselect all credit cards.
  3. Click Save.
  4. On the More Payment Types tab, be sure to activate at least one alternative payment method for customers to use.

Activate Your Account and Enter Credentials

Once you've processed any outstanding transactions, you can proceed with activating your account. To do so, open the activation email you received from and click on the activation link. You'll be prompted to enter your personal and business information and create a username and password. For more information, see's Account Activation Guide.
